Doctor Appointment

Nicholas had his follow up appointment with the Cardiologist for his heart when he was born. He had another echo cardiogram today he did very well. He had just eaten before it so he was calm with a full belly!
When the doctor came in, he listened to his heart and then told me he would be right back, he just needed to check something on the echo. Well, a red flag went right up in my mind. When the doctor came back in, he said it looks good. They compared the echo from today and from the appointment he had in November. They look almost the same. When Nicholas was born, they were worried about his left ventrical being too small, well in today's echo the left ventrical look a little larger than normal but he is not sure. He wants the head tech to read the echo. He will call me tomorrow with the results. If the measuremnts were correct today, we will need to be seen again in 6-8 weeks. If the measurements were not correct then he is all done with the cardiologists. So I will know tomorrow!

work after maternity leave

Today was a busy day for myself and Nicholas. Nicholas had his 2 month doctor appointment. It went very well. He now weighs 11 lbs 5 oz and is 22 1/2" long. His doctor was very pleased with his progress. We decided to call Early Intervention to get him evaluated. I have a few concerns and the doctor agrees with me. He was on a CPAP machine at birth and then 4 weeks later was intebated for 8 days so her and I want to make sure everything is developing on time.

As for me, I started work again after being off for 10 weeks. I started late around 12:30 because of the DR's apointment. I have to admit, it felt like I hadn't even been gone. Some of the kids who are 3 years old by the way; decided to try to test me but that is normal. Overall it was a great day.

Nicholas is with my mom for when I am at work and that puts my mind at ease!
